Newsletter for September 16-20

We hope everyone is doing well after an eventful 3-day weekend and that you have not suffered from too much rain damage. We have our fingers crossed for sunshine this week! Remember, this is a shortened week due to an inservice day for teachers on Friday. We hope to see our boys at Reading Night this Thursday evening. Please read the following reminders and let us know if you have any questions. Thanks so much!

·         MAP Testing begins this week. We will be setting goals and working towards achieving them.

·         Island Projects are due this Thursday.

·         A science homework packet on ‘thermal energy’ will go home today and be due on Thursday.

·         There will be no new spelling or vocabulary this week.

·         Today students should have chosen a new chapter book to read for the next two weeks and complete the reading menu #3. The book and menu items (all 9) are due Friday, September 27.

·         In science we will continue our study of mixtures and solutions by observing the properties of crystals. Look for an extra credit assignment this week that will be due October 18. Students may bring in his/her project earlier if they prefer.

·         In social studies we will finish georaphy and begin our study of government.
