just a reminder that Boy’s Reading Night is on Thursday, September 19 and
Girl’s Reading Night is on Thursday, September 26. It will be a
“Mystery-filled” evening. Doors open at 5:45 and it will go through 7:30 p.m.

Have you
sold any items for our PTCO Fundraiser? We hope so! All orders and checks are
due this Thursday. We appreciate our BTE families supporting this important
cause and enabling field trips for our students.
Finally,
if you have not joined the 5th Gear Kids Program, it is not too
late! Students who are signed up for the program will receive extra PE time
once a month with Mr. Gaede.

Reading: Students
will be expected to read a fiction book of his/her choice every 2 weeks. This
book MUST be brought to school each day as in-class assignments will be given in
the Reader’s Response Notebook based on the reading. BOOK #2 and MENU #2 are DUE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13.
Science: A weekly review packet will be
sent home each Monday. This is DUE ON
FRIDAY. This week we will focus on sound waves and properties of light (pages
105-112). In class, we will begin our first FOSS Kit called “Mixtures and
Solutions.” This week we will create and separate mixtures and solutions.
Social
Studies: Students will receive information on a
geography project Tuesday in class. Directions and a model will be given to
help students complete his/her “Island.” This project is DUE THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19. Students will be writing an
informative article in class about his/her island. While some class time will
be given to work on the project, students are encouraged to continue working on
this at home.
