· Ameritowne job interviews and class picture day is tomorrow. Students must present his/her job application and resume (extra credit) at the interview between 12-1 p.m. Students are encouraged to dress nicely/professionally for this activity. Thank you again to all parents who volunteered to interview students.
· Please sign and return the Ameritowne field trip permission slip and $23 by Wednesday, May 8.
· Reading Book Reports/Cereal Box Project is due Monday, May 13. Please see the pink packet that was sent home last week for more information.
· Please email a picture of your child from kindergarten or younger to Mrs. Christy to include in the slideshow. Pictures are due by Friday, May 24th. Email: achristy@cherrycreekschools.org

Word Work/Spelling: Study your spelling words for homework each night. The spelling test will be Thursday. This week we will focus on r- influenced words that have an “o” in accented syllables.

Reading: In class, we will focus on poetry, non-fiction, and fiction.
For homework, you should read/complete the fiction novel for your book report/cereal box project or a book of your choice (if you are finished) for at least 20 minutes each night. You will also need to work on the pink pre-writing packet and complete the cereal box by May 13. We will present our cereal boxes to the class beginning May 14.
Writing: Focuses will include informative writing, figurative language and poetic devices.
Social Studies: We continue the Young Ameritowne curriculum which includes concepts in economics and government. We will also continue with History Alive!
Math: We will continue Everyday Math Chapter 7 (Unit 9) which focuses on exponents and negative numbers.
For homework, complete the nightly study link(s) assigned by your teacher. Make sure you are showing your parents your homework so you can review it together each night.
