- Friday is our science fair. It will be held in the 5th grade classrooms from 12:30-3:30 p.m. All parents are welcome to attend. Hope to see you there!
· Reading Book Reports/Cereal Box Project is due Monday, May 13. Please see the pink packet that was sent home last week for more information.
· Fox Ridge Middle School pre-registration forms are due this Thursday.
· Class picture day is Tuesday, April 30. Please return the envelope and money to school on or before picture day.
· There will be no school for students on Friday, May 3.

Word Work/Spelling: Each night you will need to study your spelling words for homework. The spelling test will be Friday. This week we will focus on r- influenced words that have an “a” in accented syllables.

Reading: In class, we will focus on poetry, non-fiction, and fiction.
For homework, you should read the fiction novel for your book report/cereal box project or a book of your choice (if you are finished) for at least 20 minutes each night. You will also need to work on the pink pre-writing packet and complete the cereal box by May 13. We will present our cereal boxes to the class beginning May 14.
Writing: Focuses will include informative writing, figurative language and poetic devices.
Science: Students will present their science fair display boards on Friday from 12:30-3:30.
For homework, practice your presentation.
Social Studies: We continue the Young Ameritowne curriculum which includes concepts in economics and government.
For homework, complete the checkbook packet. It is due on Friday.
Math: We will continue Everyday Math Chapter 7 (Unit 9) which focuses on exponents and negative numbers.
For homework, complete the nightly study link(s) assigned by your teacher. Make sure you are showing your parents your homework so you can review it together each night.
