· Lollipop sales are this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday BEFORE school only. Presale orders from last week will be delivered this Tuesday.
· Per school policy, we will NOT have classroom Valentine’s Day parties on Thursday.

· Report cards will go home February 22.

Vocabulary: On the back of this page are words that come from the Treasure’s non-fiction article “Rattlers!” Study the definition and the part of speech. The test will be on Friday.
Word Work/Spelling: Each night you will need to study your spelling words for homework. The spelling test will be Friday. This week we will focus on words that have long –u patterns in accented syllables and “oddball” patterns for this rule.

Reading: You should read a book of your choice for at least 20 minutes each night. Short, leveled readers may be sent home for fluency and comprehension practice. In class, we will focus on summarizing non-fiction, stating the main idea, and supporting details. We will also be reading persuasive texts to connect to our writing.
Writing: In class and at home, we will draft, revise, and edit persuasive letters to Mrs. Speidel.
Science: In class, we will continue the FOSS unit of study in physical, earth, or life sciences. For homework, complete the review packet which is due Friday.
Social Studies: In class, we will continue chapter 8 in the History Alive textbook, which discusses life in Colonial America.
Math: We will continue unit 7, which focuses on measurement. Nightly homework will be sent home to reinforce concepts learned in class.
