Why: The Cherry Creek School District has partnered with many local companies to give kids free stuff and discounts on purchases just for exercising. For example a 5th grader can go to a nearby golf course and get a free bucket of balls, play for free and earn points towards a large amount of free items including bikes, movie tickets, basketballs and a lot more. Each student will be given a card that has to be registered at King Soopers. King Soopers gives you 10% off all of their Private Selection items and students can earn points based on healthy items you buy. The program is called 5th Gear Kids and is only being offered to 5th graders. They can manage the majority of this program on their own but there are a few things that parents need to help with. On Friday I will be presenting a video, handing out 5th Gear Kids packets and talking the the kids about the details of the program. I'm inviting parents to come and hear about this amazing program as well. Please join us in the gym.
