First Week of School

Thank you parents and students for making the first week of school a MAJOR success! I feel we accomplished learning many routines, procedures, and schedules in such a short amount of time and for that I am very grateful.

Each Monday I will update this blog with our weekly newsletter. In addition to the blog, a copy of the newsletter will be emailed to parents and each student will receive a hard copy for his/her homework binder. Please make sure the newsletter is returned to school each day.

The newsletter will include the weekly spelling and vocabulary lists, important reminders, and information about what we'll be learning.

Students will have nightly homework during the week:

  • Read each night for 20 minutes
  • Study spelling and vocabulary words for 10minutes
  • Math review problems/study link (due the next day)
  • Get planner signed daily and Thursday folder signed weekly
Homework should take approximately 50 minutes each night. If your child is spending over an hour, please contact me so we can discuss possible causes/solutions.

I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you better through the course of this year. Together we will make a difference!
